White Trash Trail Mix

The name for this treat, “White Trash Trail Mix,” comes from my son. Because the mix is covered in melted white chocolate and the overall healthiness of the ingredients is questionable, I thought the name was quite fitting. If you make this mix, be forewarned!  It is really addictive.  My daughter made it for her Girl Scout troop, and they devoured it and insisted that she make it again for them.

Ingredients

3/4 box Golden Grahams Cereal
3/4 box Cinnamon Toast Crunch Cereal
1 large bag Chocolate M & M’s
1 bag Mini Pretzels
1 large bag Pecans
2 bags White Chocolate Chips

Instructions

Add all ingredients, except the white chocolate chips, to a 2-gallon ziplock bag. Zip the bag and roll the bag around, mixing the ingredients up.

Put the white chocolate chips in a microwave safe container.  Microwave the chips for 45 seconds at 50% power.  Stir the chocolate and continue microwaving for 15 seconds at a time at 50% power until completely melted.

Add the melted chocolate to the bag, seal it, and gently roll it around, mixing the chocolate into the mixture.

Note: In the beginning, it will seem that the chocolate will never evenly spread throughout the dry ingredients, but keep rolling the bag around, and eventually it will.

Let the chocolate cool and enjoy!
